In early Autumn 2023, the World Design Organization (WDO) announced the San Diego-Tijuana region had been selected as the World Design Capital (WDC) for 2024.

The selection of the San Diego-Tijuana joint bid makes it the first binational World Design Capital in WDO history.

Earlier in the year, we received funding from the San Diego Foundation to launch our project, ReCREA, as part of a Binational Resilience Initiative. And now, the World Design Organization is featuring ReCREA as an exemplary cross-border project. Bravo to all our partners!
